Eleven Rolls Out Its Channels In Taiwan

Eleven Sports has added to its OTT presence in Taiwan with mass cable distribution for its two linear channels, Eleven and Eleven Sports.

The channels have gone live on Kbro and TFN, following launches earlier in the month with CNS, TBC and TOP.

The sports broadcaster has run a streaming service in Taiwan since January 2016.

Its Taiwanese portfolio includes exclusive rights to the World Baseball Classic, the quadrennial international tournament which is being held this month.

It also recently inked a multi-year deal to show the home games for Taiwan-based baseball team, the Lamigo Monkeys.

These complement exclusive Taiwan rights for the Premier League, Chinese Basketball Association, Serie A, the FA Cup, Cage Warriors, ATP World Tour 250 tennis, the ITTF table tennis championships and the Badminton Asia Championships.

Eleven Sports Expands Reach To More Than 4.5 Million Homes In Taiwan With Launches On Kbro And TFN

Pioneering global broadcaster ELEVEN SPORTS has expanded its reach to 4.5 million homes in Taiwan after the network launched on two of the country’s leading cable operators, Kbro and TFN.

Kbro and TFN subscribers will have a front row seat to the scintillating premium sports action available on ELEVEN SPORTS including LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the Premier League, Serie A TIM, the Emirates FA Cup, Cage Warriors, ATP World Tour 250 Tennis, the World Baseball Classic, Taiwan based CPBL baseball team ‘the Lamigo Monkeys’, the Chinese Basketball Association, and Badminton Asia Championships.

The network launched its ELEVEN and ELEVEN SPORTS channels in Taiwan in early March through partnerships with leading cable operators CNS, TBC and TOP. With the addition of Kbro and TFN, ELEVEN SPORTS has achieved close to 100% cable distribution and will reach more than 4.5 million homes across the country.

“We are proud to have achieved rapid growth and exponential success in such a short space of time in Taiwan. To be performing so well across analogue and digital basic tiers is a fantastic achievement and a testament to our strategy to ensure that ELEVEN SPORTS’ multiple platforms are available to as many people as possible,” says Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS. “Achieving close to 100% distribution on cable in such a short space of time underlines our commitment to the fans, providing them with even greater access to LIVE and EXCLUSIVE top class international and domestic sporting action that ELEVEN has to offer.”

ELEVEN SPORTS’ linear channels are running alongside the network’s over the top (OTT) streaming service which has achieved rapid growth and huge success since its launch in Taiwan in January 2016, delivering almost 4,000 hours of LIVE premium sports content annually.

ELEVEN SPORTS’ strategy to disrupt the traditional consumption of live sport in Taiwan by delivering exclusive premium content in a non-exclusive way is paying off with the network achieving exponential growth across the country.
