A+E Networks Promotes Christopher Barry To Intl Finance Head

NEW YORK – A+E Networks® has promoted Christopher Barry to Senior Vice President, Head of Finance and Business Planning, International and Digital, it was announced today by Art Vomvas, Executive Vice President, Financial and Business Planning, A+E Networks.

Reporting to Vomvas and Sean Cohan, President, International and Digital Media, Barry will lead a team responsible for the financial oversight, business planning and strategic support for growth initiatives and investments in the International and Digital divisions. His new role combines his operational experience in international together with his financial expertise, which will serve to strengthen analytical support and align finance with our business divisions.

“Christopher is a consummate strategist who has been instrumental in developing and executing the division’s growth plan with Sean Cohan and his team,” said Vomvas. “I look forward to his future contributions as he leads the finance team and partners across both the International and Digital divisions to support our continued expansion.”

Barry moves in to his new position after serving four years as Senior Vice President, International Strategy and Digital Media for A+E Networks’ International division. During his tenure he was responsible for the acquisition and integration of A+E Networks’ businesses in Southeast Asia and Italy along with market expansion in key markets including Canada and France.

“Christopher has made significant contributions, especially toward the establishment of A+E Networks’ foothold in the digital marketplace. He will continue to play a vital role across our divisions as we forge ahead on our commitment to achieve substantial growth in the global digital arena,” added Cohan.

Barry joined A+E Networks in 2012 from Sundance Channel where he was Senior Vice President, Digital Media & Business Strategy, overseeing the channel’s digital media operations and business development activities since 2003. Prior to that, Barry worked in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley & Co. as Vice President, Global Media & Communications Corporate Finance where he provided strategic financial advisory services to cable operators and television broadcasters since 1999. Before joining Morgan Stanley & Co., Barry was a financial and economic consultant for the Chicago-based firm, Arthur Andersen.
