MP & Silva Appoints APAC Associate Director
New appointment highlights focus on expanding sponsorship opportunities in Asia following key partnership deals across the region.
KUALA LUMPUR – MP & Silva, a leading international sports media company, announced today the appointment of Yun Yong-Chul for the newly created role as Associate Director (Asia Pacific).
Yong-Chul will be based in Kuala Lumpur, and is responsible for exploring new commercial and sponsorship opportunities while managing MP & Silva’s marketing rights partnership with Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP), Garena and the World Baseball Softball Confederation, amongst others.
Yong-Chul’s appointment highlights MP & Silva’s growing presence in sports sponsorship, having been recently appointed as Garena’s global marketing rights partner and securing several title sponsors for Football Malaysia LLP’s tournaments such as Telekom Malaysia and Superbest Power for the Malaysia Cup and FA Cup respectively.

Yong-Chul has been in the sports marketing industry for 14 years and he has been involved with international football since 2003. He joins MP & Silva following his five-year stint as the Head of Marketing Operations with the Asian Football Confederation, overseeing its commercial programmes for its international tournaments and events for major brands and corporations such as Toyota, Nike and Emirates. He took a leading role in developing new revenue opportunities during his stint at LA Galaxy, being responsible for developing and implementing marketing campaigns and ticket sale programs for the Chinese, Japanese and Korean market. His experience includes marketing positions with the PGA Tour and the National Basketball Association’s Indiana Pacers.
MP & Silva’s marketing rights portfolio has continued to grow since the launch of its sponsorship business arm in February 2014. Several notable partnerships include being the exclusive global media and sponsorship rights holder for the World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier 12, its role as the worldwide marketing agent to Monumental Sports and Entertainment in Washington DC, as well as its appointment as FAM’s Global Advisor for all media and commercial rights in Malaysia.
