Dreamworks Channel Launches In Malaysia Via HyppTV

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), via its award winning IPTV service HyppTV, and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA) along with HBO Asia, officially launched the DreamWorks channel, a brand new kids’ and family program service, in Malaysia today. Following the channel’s inaugural launch in Thailand last month, Malaysia becomes the second country in Asia to debut the channel, which DreamWorks and HBO are offering across the region. DreamWorks is available on HyppTV Channel 550, with two (2) months free viewing available starting 10 September 2015.

DreamWorks programming will feature its signature original series including the Emmy-award winning series All Hail King Julien, starring the world’s biggest party animal from the hugely successful Madagascar theatrical films, and The Adventures of Puss in Boots, featuring the sword-fighting feline fortune hunter made famous by the Shrek franchise. Dragons: Race to the Edge, inspired by the critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon films, will further build out the schedule in Q4 this year, with even more original series expected to be added in early 2016. Joining the award-winning lineup will be many other established characters, such as Casper the Friendly Ghost in his adventure series Casper’s Scare School, and the new original series Dinotrux, an action-packed adventure series of prehistoric proportions based on a series of award-winning children’s books. The channel will also present a daily morning preschool block, DreamWorks Junior, featuring favorites Raa Raa The Noisy Lion and Guess with Jess.

The new channel was launched by Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM and Eric Ellenbogen, Co-Head, International TV & DreamWorks Classics in an exclusive and colorful event held at Menara KL. The event was also attended by local celebrities such as Hunny Madu, Afzan Rahman and Arissa Afrina.

To add merriment to the event, HyppTV has organised fun-filled activities, delighting young fans for the first time in Malaysia with appearances by DreamWorks characters King Julien and Puss in Boots.
