CTE Signs 5 APAC Content Deals
Deals include the operator’s first foray into Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka.
Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE), operator of the largest bouquet of pan-Asian channels dedicated to Asian entertainment, announced today five new carriage deals across Asia. The deals include CTE’s first entry into Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka, a primetime program block in Vietnam, and additional carriage agreements in Indonesia and the Philippines.
The deals cover the following CTE channels: Celestial Movies (CM), the biggest 24-hour Chinese movie service in Asia and beyond; Celestial Classic Movies (CCM), the most widely-distributed Chinese movie channel in the world; KIX, the ultimate destination for action entertainment; and Thrill, Asia's only regional horror and suspense movie channel.
The new carriage deals are as follows:
Papua New Guinea
Click TV, Papua New Guinea’s first DTH broadcaster, will carry CCM. Launched in 2013, Click TV operates both terrestrial and satellite platforms and is owned by Click Pacific Limited, a leading media company in Papua New Guinea.
Dialog Television, the leading pay TV operator in Sri Lanka, will carry CCM. Dialog Television operates a DTH digital satellite TV service to over 500,000 Sri Lankan households and is a subsidiary of Dialog Axiata PLC, the largest telecommunications service provider in Sri Lanka.
A CM-branded primetime programme block will soon be launched in Vietnam on YANTV, a leading music and youth entertainment channel, and Channel B, a new channel for women and families. Both channels are owned by Yan Media Group.
Dens.TV, a newly-launched platform in Indonesia combining IPTV, OTT and internet services, will carry CM, KIX HD and Thrill as well as Celestial Movies On Demand and KIX Thrill Select. Dens.TV is operated by CBN’s subsidiary, PT Digdaya Duta Digital, and is available in Jakarta and Bandung. CBN is a leading internet service provider in Indonesia.
Olé TV, a newly launched multiplatform content streaming service in the Philippines powered by Dream, will carry CCM as an OTT linear channel. Viewers are able to watch content via OléTV by downloading their proprietary app.
