Tencent & Talpa To Debut First China Format Collaboration
‘The 15 of Us’, Tencent and Talpa’s highly awaited collaboration of a groundbreaking new reality format for the Chinese market, is set for the digital launch today on Tencent Video, the company’s online digital platform. This is the first project of its scale developed primarily for digital broadcasting.
With ‘The 15 of Us’, Tencent meets the increasing demand of online video content in China. ‘The 15 of Us’ promises to deliver a unique new viewing experience to the country’s multitude of Internet users. The show generated tremendous interest even prior to its launch: more than 100,000 individuals applied to take part in the social experiment.
The reality format, a genre in which Talpa has firmly established its global success, was specifically created to meet the needs of the Chinese market. Set on an isolated mountain in the scenic part of Tong Lu, the program focuses on 15 individuals who originate from different parts of China.
“The 15 of Us” gives them the opportunity, individually as well as a group, to help one another realize their dreams. Before doing so, however, they need to work to create a new home, to be self-sufficient and to use all the land has to offer, as well as to earn money so that their dreams can actually be achieved.
Also integrated in the program will be China’s many national festivals, especially those reflecting the Chinese Lunar Calendar and the country’s traditional seasonal changes. The launch of the program on Dragon TV is scheduled for next Monday, June 29th.
